Local Food Pantries in the Saratoga Springs Area

Pile of general canned goods

The Saratoga Springs community is full of wonderful and giving people. There are many food pantries in the area who all need our help to keep them stocked with plenty of food and non-food items. Below is a list of the food panties in the Saratoga Springs area.

They are called Food Pantries, Food Shelves, Food Banks and a whole bunch of other names. But they all are the same in their purpose, to help people get the food they need. Most of these Food Pantries rely solely on community donations to stock their shelves. Click here to read another article on location information and lists of specific needs.

And don’t forget, they don’t just need food. Many will ask for toiletries, cleaning products and soap. Some Food Pantries will give you a list of things they can take, the things they need, and the most necessary items. However, please follow their guidelines and bring what they are asking for as most have limited space for storage.

The Christ Church Food Pantry accepts almost all donations. There are signs to help know where to go to bring your food donations. You can simply pull up hand the volunteers your food donations during pantry hours. If you like, you can provide your name and address and they will send you a thank you card! If you would rather make it anonymous, that’s just fine too. They also have a drop box on the front porch of the church offices. I spoke with the Theresa Polson, Director of Christ Church Food Pantry, who gave me a list of the items they need and the most needed items.

First Baptist Church is located in the center of downtown Ballston Spa. They offer food and other supplies to any resident in Saratoga County. They have found a huge need in the community for cleaning supplies. These types of items are not covered by food stamps, so folks are using their money to purchase things like dishwashing soap and hand soap.
